Lenses/Lens adapters for the Olympus E-520?

I’m looking into buying the E 520, but my only concern is the lack of lenses available from Olympus and generally. Normally, lenses with a range of above x-300mm cost 200 euro or similar, but there isn’t even one available for my budget (around 200 euro). So do I have to buy a lense adapter, and how do they work? And do you know any shops with lenses that work with olympus cameras? Also if you have any experience with the E-520 or olympus DSLRs in general, any information would help! Thanks in advance!

Now before you get too excited, there are two major downsides to using this adapter. First, autofocus will not be available with OM lenses. Two, the aperture has to be controlled manually and metering must be done with the lens “stopped down.”

The Olympus catalog of lenses is actually fairly extensive and covers the needs of almost anyone short of a full-on professional shooter. Olympus makes lenses to cover almost every conceivable shot. I have also heard incredible stories about the weather sealing on Olympus E-3 cameras and “Super High Grade” lenses being used in Iraq and Afghanistan. The downside is that as extensive as the Olympus system is, Canon and Nikon still offer more lenses. And curiously, the Super High Grade lenses are often significantly more expensive than Canon L-Series lenses that cover equivalent focal lengths.
