Flip video with final cut express 4 help!?

Recently i received the Final Cut Express 4 from apple. I own a Flip Ultra Video camcorder, and my brother has a Flip Mino HD Camcorder. do either of these video cameras work on Final Cut Express 4? If the video must be converted first, is it difficult to do and must i buy extra software? Is it worth the hassle?
