Lithium Battery

How can i Keep my Lithium-ion Battery in good Condition?
I have a HP Pavilion dv2000 with a Li-ion (Lithium-Ion) Battery.
Some people have told me to keep the Adapter plugged in all the time so that my battery goes through less charge cycles.
On the topic of battery life, some say it is best to take the battery out while others contend that it is better to leave it plugged in. I’m the kind that likes to leave the plug in, but there are some general strategies to extending battery life
If you’re using an older “Nickel type” battery, it is best that you take it off and use the charger exclusively, putting it back on only when you need (because they are more dependent on memory charges using full drain and rechage). If your laptop uses the newer Lithium-ion battery, it should be fine because they are much more tolerant to recharges (prefering the partial charge at 10-25% rather than at 0%. It is actually bad for the lithium battery to do a full recharge). However, they tend to have a lifespan of only about 2-3 years, even if you don’t use them! You can even take the battery out while you have the cord in if you feel it would be better. I prefer to leave it in in case of any sudden power out that would cause any damage/loss of data.
However, it is a good idea to drain your battery to the critical level (10%) once or twice a month at least to maintain its health. If you want to store your battery, charge it to 40% and keep it in a cool place (not the freezer!).
When your laptop is turned off and your battery is fully charged, unplug the charger. This is when everyone agrees that it is bad for the battery because you’re adding energy to something that isn’t in use, which causes the battery to heat up. This heat is a major damaging culprit of your battery’s health.
