Sony Memory Stick – Memory Stick Pro Compatability?

I have a sony cybershot 3.2 megapixel p72 digital camera which currently uses memory stick.
Is the memory stick pro card backward compatible to this.
I am trying to upgrade memory to 1 gig or more.
I currently have 32 meg but understand that ms will not go over 132 meg.
