I’m hesitating between 4 digital cameras, which would you advise?
I’m 15 year old and keep in mind that saving up money to buy a camera for me is pretty slow seeing as I don’t have a job (I’m searching though) but I do get an allowance for housework. I used to take pictures with a camcorder and found out that I had a passion for photography so I decided to start looking for an intermediate cameras. Here are my current choices:
1. Nikon D50 (Seems like the most professional but it’s the most expensive)
2. Canon A700 (Good and not expensive)
3. Nikon P4 (Good and not expensive)
4. Sony W70 (Good and not expensive)
Which one do you suggest?
Persoanlly, go w/ the Nikon. It IS more advanced, but you shouldn’t have to trade up for some time, it should last and a different view is just a new lens away. There are more options (accessory wise) than those other cameras not to mention that lens can be bought used for relativly cheap from a multitude of places. Go to http://www.bhphotovideo.com or http://www.adorama.com . The are probably the best stores in the country and do sell this camera as well as maybe a used version and I know they sell used lenses for a good price. One thing to remember is get a 1 GB or higher card w/ a fast write speed (80x for example) and a card reader. After all that, play like a mad man, there is no such thing as a bad picture, its all learning, read magazines, don’t hesitate to ask someone at the local camera store what this does, or that does, what does this mean, things like that. If they tell you to go away or buzz off or get annoyed, go to a different store and do biz there, the mean store is a waste of your time and money, not worth doing biz with.
